I first discovered HTML when I started a Tumblr very very long ago. It always seemed interesting to me – messing around with bits of code to create something wholly unique.

So, thanks to Tumblr, I’ve been able to subtly alter HTML in an incredibly novice way: I know nothing about code. I’m 100% winging it.

But it’s still remained something interesting to me, always cropping up and taunting me with its simplistic yet unknown ways.

Last week I randomly Googled “How to learn code”, seeing as before last week I wasn’t even aware that HTML was code. Feel free to roll your eyes and think all the awful thoughts about me. I literally know NOTHING! Well, as of last week I now know a little more thanks to W3schools. Their website is AMAZING and a fantastic resource for anyone looking to begin with the very easy parts of code a.k.a HTML.

Here’s a brief description of what code actually is (courtesy of Code Conquest):

Coding is what makes it possible for us to create computer software, apps and websites. Your browser, your OS, the apps on your phone, Facebook, and this website – they’re all made with code.

Since my Google sesh I’ve nearly completed a learn to HTML course on W3schools, as well as signed up to Skillcrush as they have some pretty interesting info, and got a couple of books (yeah books feels a little silly but I’m obsessed) out from the library. Lets see how far I can go…
